About The Open Door Gallery
The Open Door Gallery is the
result of a joint effort of members
of the Sturgis community, the City
of Sturgis, Downtown
Development Authority and the
Michigan Council of the Arts and
Cultural Affairs. Our goals are to
provide a supportive
environment for artists, to
engage the community in artistic
pursuits, and encourage the
exploration and cultivation of
individual creative visions.
Through these pursuits, the
Gallery has rejuvenated one of
the oldest building in Sturgis.

As a cooperative organization, the operation of the Gallery is
successfully managed by the member through monthly meetings and
committee work. Every week, 11 four-hour work shifts are manned by
the members and volunteers. Much of the renovation work has also
been done by members and volunteers. We are a HARD working group
and we’re making progress!
